Technical Manager - Motofyx (Pune)
Job Description:
Role Overview:
The technical manager will lead the workshop floor, oversee diagnostic and repair activities, guide technicians, and ensure the highest service quality standards for luxury and premium vehicles. This role is ideal for an experienced automotive technician or foreman from an authorized service center looking to transition into a leadership role. Experience with German and European brands (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, JLR, VW, Skoda) or premium Japanese cars will
be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults in premium/luxury cars using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of the engine, transmission, and electrical systems of modern vehicles.
- Manage day-to-day workshop operations, prioritize job cards, and ensure timely service delivery.
- Supervise and guide a team of 4–6 technicians in executing diagnostics, repairs, and servicing tasks.
- Review and approve repair estimates and ensure adherence to MotoFyx’s quality standards.
- Create detailed technical reports and diagnosis summaries for internal records and customer communication.
- Coordinate with service advisors and procurement staff for smooth workflow.
- Report directly to the Operations Manager/Workshop Head and support customer escalations requiring advanced diagnostics.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical findings when required.
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic systems (VAS, ISTA, STAR, ODIS, etc.) and workshop management software is preferred.
Candidate Profile:
- 6–8 years of experience working at an authorized service center (luxury/premium brands preferred).
- Strong technical foundation and ability to perform hands-on diagnostics and complex repair tasks.
- Proven expertise with diagnostic tools/scanners and modern vehicular electrical systems.
- Leadership mindset: capable of managing a team and leading by example on the floor.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work under pressure.
- Must be able to read and write English for reporting and communication purposes.
- Excellent communication skills with customers and internal team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: ITI / Diploma / Graduate in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- Car Diagnostic Certifications (Level 3/4 or equivalent) from OEMs or recognized training institutes preferred.
- Certified or proven experience as an Advanced Diagnostic Technician in a premium/luxury brand setup is preferred.
