Senior Architect / Interior Designer- Healthcare Industry- Mumbai (Lower Parel)
Job Description:
We have an opening for the post of Sr. Architect/ Interior Designer for a reputed Company in Healthcare Industry for their Mumbai(Lower Parel) Head Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with clients, patient care teams, facility operators, researchers, and related endusers to develop creative healthcare planning strategies at all levels of detail including new construction and renovations.
- Develop comprehensive design briefs and project proposals outlining the scope, objectives, and deliverables of each project with advanced technical knowledge in the healthcare planning and programming of various-sized hospital, micro-hospital, academic medical center, and outpatient clinic building typologies.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' healthcare program requirements, standards and, policies for completion. Collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, administrators, and facility managers, to understand their needs and preferences.
- Lead the concept planning, site zoning, planning, including supervision of planning teams, for healthcare facilities in all phases including programming, design, fit-out planning, equipment planning, and casework planning.
- Utilize personal expertise in architectural principles, building codes, and healthcare design guidelines to create innovative and functional hospital layouts.
- Design exterior facades, floor plans, and building structures that optimize space utilization, circulation flow, and patient accessibility.
- Integrate sustainable design practices and technologies to enhance energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
- Oversee the interior design process, including space planning, material selection, and furniture specification, to create welcoming and comfortable healthcare environments.
- Ensure that interior spaces comply with regulatory requirements and infection control standards to promote patient safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with interior designers, decorators, and furniture suppliers to source high-quality furnishings and finishes that meet project specifications and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents required for permitting and construction.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and other design professionals to integrate building systems and ensure design feasibility.
- Review contractor bids, negotiate contracts, and provide construction administration services to ensure adherence to design intent and quality standards.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve design-related issues and implement design modifications as needed.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality control, and compliance with design specifications.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Participate in select marketing and business development opportunities.
- Provide strategy (leveraging existing connections), thought leadership (technical writing), and storytelling (project approach) during proposal phase to help win work.
- Actively seek new knowledge in the design and planning of healthcare facilities.
- Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff to develop best practices.
- Actively participate in industry associations to ensure visibility.
- Lead the client in programming sessions defining the facility needs.
- Provide guidance to project managers, architects, and project engineers to establish overall project budgets and milestone schedules.
- Participate actively in the firm-wide Healthcare practice market sector team and help develop yearly strategic business plans.
Candidate's Profile:
- Bachelors degree in architecture with + 10 years of relevant healthcare design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Licensed Architect
- Masters in healthcare design would be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of healthcare design principles, building codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FGI Guidelines, ADA Standards).
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and graphic presentation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite). Personal Skillset
- Detailed knowledge of evidence-based design strategies as to drive positive outcomes for patients as well as caregivers.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex architectural projects on time and within budget.
