Job Description:
We are having an urgent opening for the position of Junior Advocate / Legal Assistant for a reputed company Real Estate at the Mumbai (Borivali (W)) location.
Job Description:
The candidate must have experience in supporting Senior Advocates/ Counsels in legal court matters and a thorough understanding and management experience for project legal documentation at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and reviewing Petitions, Suits, Written Statements, Drafting & vetting all documents, Contracts & Development Agreements, Development Management Agreement, Sale Agreement, IPAA, POA under the guidance and direction of Senior Advocates.
- Drafting and review of other legal documents such as Demand Notices, Letters, letters of Intent, Legal Notices, Appointment Letters, Lease/Sale Agreements, Leave & License Agreements, Conveyance etc. under the guidance and direction of Senior Advocates.
- Liaising/ Coordinating with Solicitors, Advocates, Counsel, briefing them in the matters for pending and ongoing cases, etc. Keeping track of Court dates and managing case related documentations and progress. Representing the firm in Case proceedings and in legal matters as defined and advised by the Directors. Updating the Senior Advocates and Directors on the timelines and progress on matters
- Liaising/ Coordinating with various Govt. Departments such as BMC, MHADA, SRA Authorities, Redevelopment projects & Societies, landlords etc. for company’s and project’s legal matters and/or documentation
- Legal scrutiny of primary documents to establish the genesis of title.
- Responsible to manage any other non-litigation legal work and advising the organization on various legal issues.
- Managing and undertaking legal research as required.
- Maintain and File all legal documents/Agreements systematically for projects in hard and soft formats
- Responsible for the due diligence, screening of society/ project/ land/ member documents, search, and statuary compliances to mitigate possible risks, land purchase.
- Knowledge on handling Society matters and interacting with society members.
- Should be well-versed with the RERA procedure. Managing and handling the RERA Registration and update procedure of all projects.
Candidate Profile:
- Must have a Bachelors of Laws degree
- Must have ability to manage associates and resources within a legal department environment
- Should have experience of at least 5 years of working in a corporate Legal Dept.
- Candidates having experience in Real Estate Companies will be preferred
- Should have strong legal background in corporate and real estate law with in-depth knowledge of commercial contracts
- Strong command over written and spoken English with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
