CNC & VMC Programmer

Role summary

We are looking for an experienced CNC & VMC Programmer to develop machining programs and fixtures for new components, execute complete machine setups and resolve production issues on the shop floor. The incumbent will support new-product development, improve the productivity of existing parts and work closely with production leaders and machine operators to ensure safe, accurate and efficient machining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop CNC and VMC programs for new components and enquiries.
• Design and develop fixtures for new products in-house.
• Carry out complete machine setup, tool selection and setting.
• Define and monitor machining sequences for CNC and VMC operations.
• Conduct prove-outs and support the successful introduction of new parts.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional and process-related problems.
• Improve cycle time, productivity, tool life and machining efficiency for existing components.
• Recommend improvements in machining methods, fixtures and operation sequences.
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and technical specifications.
• Select and use appropriate cutting tools and measuring instruments.
• Verify component dimensions and ensure conformance to quality requirements.
• Work closely with shop-floor leaders, operators, quality and production teams.
• Maintain CNC programs, setup documentation and process records.
• Train and guide operators on machining methods and setup requirements.
• Support continuous-improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

Required technical skills

• Strong hands-on CNC and VMC programming experience.
• Practical expertise with FANUC controllers.
• Complete knowledge of machine setup, tooling, offsets and prove-out.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, NX/UG CAD and CAM software.
• Strong understanding of fixtures, cutting tools and machining parameters.
• Ability to use vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
• Sound knowledge of machining operations, tolerances and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Candidate profile

• Relevant technical qualification is mandatory.
• Approximately 8–10 years of CNC/VMC programming and new-product-development experience.
• Experience in an automotive-component, precision-machining or component-manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must have independently programmed new parts and completed machine setups.
• Should be capable of developing fixtures and optimizing existing machining processes.
• Strong communication, teamwork and shop-floor coordination skills.
• Candidates currently based in or willing to relocate to Vadodara will be preferred.
