Chief of Staff - AI Product Strategy Business Operations and Founder Support

Location: Gurugram, India
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting To: Founder and CEO
Number of Positions: 1–2
Team Leadership: Founder’s Office team of approximately 4–5 professionals
Compensation: ₹18–30 LPA; exceptional high-potential candidates may be considered from ₹15 LPA

The company is building in India to address the requirements of the Indian Armed Forces and other strategic institutions.

About the Role

The Chief of Staff will serve as the Founder’s strategic and execution partner, helping convert the company’s priorities into coordinated action across product, technology, customers, go-to-market and business operations.

This role requires someone who can move comfortably between an AI product review, a defence customer discussion, a leadership meeting and a strategic decision-making session.

The Chief of Staff will lead the Founder’s Office team, establish operating discipline and personally drive some of the company’s most important cross-functional initiatives.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can contribute at both the strategic and execution levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Founder and CEO to define priorities, sequence initiatives and translate strategy into clear execution plans, owners, metrics and review mechanisms.
• Lead, coach and allocate responsibilities across the Founder’s Office team.
• Set a high standard for analytical quality, execution speed, communication and follow-through.
• Drive cross-functional execution across AI and product development, customer engagement, go-to-market, strategic partnerships, hiring and business operations.
• Represent or accompany the Founder in important customer meetings, product demonstrations, partner discussions and internal reviews.
• Translate customer, defence-user and market inputs into structured requirements, product priorities and commercial actions in partnership with product and engineering leaders.
• Prepare decision-quality briefs, operating dashboards, board materials, business cases and scenario analyses for critical company decisions.
• Establish a practical operating rhythm covering leadership reviews, priority tracking, risk escalation, decision logs and accountability mechanisms.
• Identify organisational bottlenecks, resolve dependencies and ensure that important decisions translate into timely action.
• Support market strategy, product strategy, new initiatives, strategic partnerships and selected government or enterprise opportunities.
• Act as a trusted and discreet sounding board to the Founder while constructively challenging assumptions through evidence and structured thinking.
• Ensure that the Founder’s time remains focused on the highest-impact priorities.

Candidate Profile

Experience

Typically 6–10 years of relevant professional experience.

Meaningful experience in a Chief of Staff, Founder’s Office, product strategy, strategy and operations, management consulting, product management or business leadership role.

Technology and Product Experience

• Strong experience working with AI, SaaS, enterprise software, deep-tech or technology products.
• Ability to engage credibly with technical and engineering teams.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business, customer and strategic language.
• Strong understanding of product development, product strategy and go-to-market execution.

Company-Building Experience

• Track record of working in a fast-growing, founder-led or zero-to-one environment.
• Comfortable working in situations where priorities evolve quickly and execution requires direct involvement.
• Experience building processes and operating systems without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, management or a related discipline.

Candidates from IITs or other leading institutions will be preferred, but this is not mandatory.

• Comfortable leading or supporting product demonstrations, strategic discussions and senior stakeholder meetings.

• High level of discretion while managing sensitive company, product and customer information.
• Strong ownership and ability to move from strategy to detailed execution.
• Low-ego leadership style with the confidence to challenge constructively.
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving organisation.

Strongly Preferred

• Previous Chief of Staff or Founder’s Office experience within a respected product-led technology company.
• Experience in high-velocity consumer-tech, enterprise-tech, SaaS, deep-tech or AI businesses.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, defence technology, secure or on-premise systems, government programmes or strategic partnerships.
• Experience working with complex enterprise or government sales cycles.
• Experience shaping product and go-to-market strategy while also building the systems required to execute it.
