Manager / Associate — Strategy

Job Description:

We are a Singapore-headquartered international commodity trading and investment company — operating across base metals, critical minerals, and scrap and recycled products, with supply chains spanning Africa, India, Southeast Asia and rest of Asia Pacific. Led by an experienced management team and backed by a reputed strategic investor group, we are transitioning from our start-up phase into rapid growth and asset deployment. This role is central to that journey. Location New Delhi, India Reporting to Chief Executive Officer Experience Minimum 3 years — metals & minerals mandatory

THE ROLE

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role working directly with the CEO as a trusted analytical and strategic partner on key commercial and investment decisions.

This is not a conventional strategy role. It requires:

• Strong understanding of metals and minerals markets.
• An opportunity-identifying and commercially oriented mindset.
• Ability to work across financial modelling, market research, and strategic analysis.
• Strong capability to create investor- and board-quality presentations.
• Practical fluency with AI tools, large language models, research platforms, and analytical tools to accelerate research and improve output quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Projects & Trade Flows

• Work with the CEO to identify, evaluate, and develop strategic projects across trade flows, structured transactions, and asset investments.
• Conduct feasibility assessments for new trading opportunities, supply-chain structures, and joint ventures.
• Track global trade flows, regulatory changes, and policy developments relevant to the company's supply chains.

2. Research & Market Intelligence

• Conduct desktop and on-ground research on supply-demand dynamics, import-export data, commodity pricing, and counterparty profiles.
• Research operational parameters of metals and minerals processing and recycling facilities, including yield rates, CAPEX benchmarks, and technology comparisons.
• Prepare structured research notes, market briefings, and analytical reports for the CEO and management team.

3. Investment Analysis & Financial Modelling

• Build financial models for asset investments, including processing facilities, manufacturing plants, and recycling operations, from greenfield through operating stages.
• Conduct investment appraisals covering IRR, NPV, payback, sensitivity, and scenario analysis.
• Prepare investment memos, board papers, and presentations for management and investor audiences.

4. Presentations & Documentation

• Develop high-quality presentations, investor decks, strategy documents, and analytical materials using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Support the CEO in preparation for board meetings, investor meetings, and external engagements.
• Maintain strategy documents, investment pipelines, project trackers, and related documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Mandatory

• Minimum 3 years of experience in metals and minerals — producer, trader, mining company, commodity investment firm, or transaction advisory.
• Metals & minerals experience is non-negotiable.
• Strong financial modelling and corporate finance skills, with the ability to build models from scratch.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities, including trade data, production economics, and technical/operational parameters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Practical fluency with AI tools and models for research, analysis, and improving output quality.

Preferred

• Experience in commodity trading environments.
• Familiarity with critical minerals, recycled metals, or circular-economy supply chains.
• Exposure to cross-border transactions or structured finance within commodities.
• MBA, preferably combined with substantive relevant industry experience.

A strong analytical mind with relevant commercial experience is valued over a degree without industry substance.
