Senior AutoCAD Draftsman

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior AutoCAD Draftsman with extensive experience in real estate and construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing planning and construction drawings, supporting feasibility studies, assisting in project bids and proposals, and coordinating with architects, consultants, and project teams. The ideal candidate should possess strong AutoCAD drafting skills, a sound understanding of development regulations, and the ability to deliver accurate drawings within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Layout Planning & Feasibility Support

• Prepare detailed floor plans, unit layouts, parking layouts, site layouts, and planning drawings using AutoCAD.
• Assist in FSI utilization studies, yield analysis, area statements, and development feasibility assessments.
• Develop concept-level drawings for project evaluations, redevelopment proposals, joint developments, and management reviews.
• Modify and optimize layouts based on project requirements, regulations, and management inputs.
• Support architects and planning teams in preparing preliminary design options and planning schemes.

Pre-Bid & Proposal Support

• Prepare concept drawings, sketches, and planning layouts for bids, tenders, and project proposals.
• Assist in preparing alternative planning options and comparative layout studies.
• Support client presentations and internal project evaluations with technical drawings and planning documentation.
• Prepare area calculations and planning summaries required for project submissions.

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and project teams to ensure drawing accuracy.
• Incorporate design revisions and comments received from management and consultants.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records, and project documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with project requirements and applicable development regulations.

Site & Execution Support

• Provide technical drawing support and clarifications to site engineers and project teams.
• Participate in coordination meetings and resolve drawing-related issues during execution.
• Prepare and update as-built drawings based on site conditions and project changes.
• Support project teams in maintaining accurate drawing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of architectural planning and drafting standards.
• Knowledge of FSI calculations, setbacks, parking requirements, and development control regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for area calculations and project data management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.

Preferred

• Knowledge of SketchUp and/or Revit.
• Exposure to municipal approval drawings and real estate development projects.
• Familiarity with redevelopment and residential/commercial project planning.

Qualification

• ITI in Draftsmanship (Civil/Architectural) OR
• Diploma in Civil Engineering / Architecture / Draftsmanship.
• Relevant AutoCAD certifications will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Minimum 7 years of drafting experience in real estate, construction, architecture, or planning organizations.
• Proven experience in preparing planning layouts, feasibility studies, and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with residential, commercial, mixed-use, and redevelopment projects.
• Ability to work closely with architects, planners, consultants, and project execution teams.
