B2B Business Development Executive / Manager
Job Description:
Role Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented B2B Business Development professional who will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing corporate and industrial clients, managing enquiries, coordinating site visits, preparing proposals, following up for quotations, and converting leads into confirmed orders.
The candidate should have strong communication skills, client-handling ability, market knowledge, and B2B sales experience. The person should be capable of identifying potential clients, building relationships with decision-makers, understanding client requirements, coordinating with technical teams, and achieving business targets.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and generate new B2B business opportunities through market research, references, cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn, site visits, industry contacts, consultants, contractors, and existing client networks.
- Develop new clients in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, manufacturing, corporate, institutional, and project-based sectors.
- Create and maintain a strong database of prospective clients, key decision-makers, consultants, architects, project heads, purchase teams, maintenance teams, and plant heads.
- Explore new markets, new industries, and new project opportunities for business growth.
Client Meetings & Relationship Management
- Schedule and attend meetings with clients to understand their requirements, pain points, project needs, timelines, and budgets.
- Build strong long-term relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, purchase departments, and decision-makers.
- Coordinate with clients for technical discussions, site visits, project clarification, documentation, and commercial negotiations.
- Maintain regular follow-up with existing and prospective clients to generate repeat business and referrals.
Enquiry & Proposal Management
- Receive and manage client enquiries related to company services/products.
- Coordinate internally with technical, estimation, operations, and management teams to understand project scope and prepare suitable proposals.
- Share quotations, company profiles, technical documents, commercial offers, and required supporting documents with clients.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and proposals until closure.
- Maintain enquiry tracker, quotation tracker, follow-up tracker, and conversion reports.
Sales Conversion & Order Closure
- Negotiate commercials, payment terms, delivery timelines, scope of work, and contract terms in coordination with management.
- Convert qualified leads and enquiries into confirmed purchase orders/work orders.
- Coordinate with clients for purchase order release, advance payment, documentation, and handover to the execution team.
- Ensure smooth transition from sales stage to project execution stage.
Market Intelligence
- Track competitors, pricing trends, market demand, upcoming projects, and industry developments.
- Provide regular feedback to management on customer requirements, market opportunities, lost orders, and competitor activities.
- Identify potential sectors and clients where the company can expand business.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with internal teams such as technical, estimation, accounts, execution, purchase, and management for business-related activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering leads generated, meetings done, quotations submitted, follow-ups, order closures, and expected business.
- Maintain proper CRM data, client records, communication history, and sales pipeline.
Required Qualifications
Best Preferred Qualification
- MBA / PGDM in Marketing, Sales, Business Development, or International Business.
Other Acceptable Qualifications
- E. / B.Tech Civil / Mechanical / Electrical with sales or business development experience.
- Com / BBA / Graduate in any discipline with strong B2B sales experience.
- For technical or project-based industries, an engineering background with business development experience will be an added advantage.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong B2B sales and client acquisition experience.
- Good communication, presentation, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to meet clients independently and understand business/project requirements.
- Experience in preparing proposals, quotations, commercial offers, and sales reports.
- Knowledge of CRM, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, email drafting, and basic documentation.
- Ability to coordinate between client and internal technical/commercial teams.
- Target-oriented approach with strong ownership of sales pipeline and closures.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The candidate should have experience in any of the following sectors:

- Structural repair, restoration, waterproofing, retrofitting, construction chemicals
