Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Taxation and Compliance - Mumbai (Prabhadevi)

Job Description:

Role Summary:

The position will report to the Manager–Taxation and Compliance and will be a part of the indirect tax team. Among the regular tasks, focus will be on compliances related to the shipping industry, like GST monthly returns, GST audit, assessments, and general ledger management for tax accounts.

Core Responsibilities:

• Supervising the monthly Filing of GST  returns GST  1 & GST  3B and GL reconciliation for all entities within the group for all states.
• Ensuring GST audits are completed on time for all entities within the group.
• Supervising ITC reconciliation, Liasoning with internal departments for issues with vendors
• Attending to GST assessments, notices received from GST for all states and preparing data to be sent to the officer.
• To update the team on the new circulars/ change in Act and recommend appropriate system changes if any.
• Filing of appeals, GST refunds wherever applicable for GST at the commissioner/CESTAT/ High Court level

Key Performance Indicators:

• Adherence of compliance of GST deadlines as per law.
• Effective completion of tasks within deadlines set by the Management/HO
• Managing tax liabilities and compliances in the most efficient manner
• Adherence to group/corporate policies whilst performing tax related tasks.

Qualifications and Skill Sets:

• CA with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Well versed with GST, Service Tax, and Companies Law
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
