Designer – E&I - Chennai

Job Description:

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design and develop PID’s, electrical control circuits, Power distribution drawings, Electrical Layout Drawings, and Instruments hook-ups.
Typically reports to Lead engineer and co-ordinate with other inter-department for engineering design team activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation / Review of process & instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams in AutoCAD.
• Preparation / Review of instrument & Electrical equipment’s data sheets according end user specification &
  international standards like, ISA/IEC.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

• Diploma in ICE / EEE from reputed University with good academic record.

• Should be capable of working with the team and an individual.
• Should have a good communication, interpersonal skill, decision making and area expertise.
• Should have a goal setting, planning and empathy.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Able to select apt fittings for instruments hook-up.
• Able to select suitable electrical components for electrical wiring & junction box.
• Able to coordination with production team for support.
• Able to work in dynamic team environment and under tight time constraints.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

IT H/W & S/W - Auto-CAD, Navis works, MS Word, MS Excel.

• Preparation / Review of instrument interconnection diagrams & Starter/relay control panel wiring drawings & Logic circuits.
• Preparation / Review of cable schedules, I-O lists & Instrument Index.
• Preparation / Review of instruments Hook-up.
• Preparation / Review of cause & effect diagrams, Electrical & instrumentation Bill of Materials.
• Preparation / Review of control panel GA drawings & Component arrangements.
• Preparation / Review of motor starter power & control schematics using conventional relay controls.
• Present a status report on a weekly/monthly basis to the E&I engineer / Lead Engineer.
